Growtheatre YouthTheatre – Autumn Term 2022
It has been an incredible term for Growtheatre! We have loved working with all three groups, each of them being so different and bringing something special to every session.
The Junior group have been busy exploring the wonderful story of the Golden Goose by the Brothers Grimm. From dissecting the characters, to working with sock puppets and having a go at narration; there is nothing this group can’t handle. They have been a joy to work with and we are already excited to see them after Christmas!Â
The Intermediates had the exciting opportunity to work on comedy and slapstick this term, they explored different elements of comedy through improvisation and even had a go at some slapstick moves. We then had the chance to put on a small informal show for our families and we decided to work together and create Growtheatre’s version of Peter Pan the Pantomime! It felt great to welcome families to share our work in both the Junior and the Intermediate Groups.
The Seniors took on many amazing challenges, one big one being Physical Theatre. After they worked for the first half of the term creating some small Physical Theatre performances, the group focused on having FUN and got to divulge their enthusiasm for comedy on themes such as Horrible Histories and the Life and Times of David Attenborough! An enjoyable time has been had by all and we will be back for more fun after the festive period.
Of course our last session of the year HAD to be Christmas fun … which you can see from the photos below … we definitely had a lot of!
We have had nothing short of a wonderful term and we are already looking forward to what 2022 is going to bring. We also want to say a really big thank you to our volunteers that give up their time and hard work every Thursday evening. They continue to work with and inspire all three groups and we are extremely lucky to have the opportunity to work with them.
From us all here at Growtheatre, we want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a very Happy and safe New Year!
