At Growtheatre Youth Theatre, we combine the creativity of theatre with the freedom, adventure, and inspiration of being in nature. Based in the heart of Ecclesall Woods, we’re proud to be Sheffield’s only outdoor youth theatre, offering children and young people the chance to explore their creativity in a truly unique way.
Our Youth Theatre isn’t just about performing—it’s about trying new things, building confidence, working as a team, and developing skills like design, directing, stage management, and even outdoor skills. Members collaborate to create original performances, inspired by the woods and their own imaginations.
When the weather doesn’t allow us to be outside, we continue our sessions indoors at the Woodland Discovery Centre, where the fun and creativity carry on.

When and Where?
We meet during term times at the J.G. Graves Woodland Discovery Centre in Ecclesall Woods, Sheffield. Our sessions are available for the following age groups:
- Junior Group (School Years 3, 4, and 5): Tuesdays or Thursdays, 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM
- Intermediate Group (School Years 6, 7, and 8): Tuesdays or Thursdays, 6:05 PM – 7:35 PM
- Senior Group (School Years 9, 10, and 11): Thursdays, 7:40 PM – 9:10 PM
This January, we’re offering free taster sessions for children to come and try out Growtheatre Youth Theatre. It’s the perfect opportunity to see if it’s the right fit!
