Growtheatre’s ethos is to bring theatre and the outdoors together to develop the whole child.
Why help fund a free Youth Theatre place?
We think Growtheatre Youth Theatre is an unique place – it is a place for children and young people to be playful and imaginative, develop their own creativity, work with their hands, explore how they can make a positive impact on the environment and others and, most importantly, be with like minded people. Members who have gone onto university and the world of work tell us that they have learnt things that they will carry for the rest of their lives, and they have become confident and considerate individuals, and have made friends for life. We think that every child, regardless of background, should have the opportunity to access this.
We offer free and assisted places to children and young people if cost is a barrier to attending Growtheatre Youth Theatre. However, we would like to do more and with your help we can ensure that any child who wishes to join Growtheatre Youth Theatre can do so.
Who do we support?
Sometimes children and young people approach us and ask if they might join, but more often they are referred to us by schools or youth workers. Another route that children and young people find us is through participating in a creative community project that we are involved with; if we are working with an individual who is really keen to do more, then we invite them to join the Youth Theatre; we positively encourage this as they have so much to contribute.
